VODÁRENSKÁ AKCIOVÁ SPOLEČNOST, a.s. (VAS, a.s.) was established at the end of 1993 and it is an important regional operating water company. The principal business partners of the company are the representatives of local government, who own the technical infrastructure. Besides operating their public water supply and sewage systems, we also provide support to them in relation to the fulfillment of tasks in the field of infrastructure development and renewal. The municipal nature of the company and customer orientation represents the crucial principles governing the provision of our services. The basic mission is to protect human health and care for the environment, which is also expressed in the company's logo: "WATER AND PEOPLE - PARTNERS FOR LIFE"
The administrative and governing unit of VODÁRENSKÁ AKCIOVÁ SPOLEČNOST, a.s. is the Head Office. The company consists of a technical division and 6 operating divisions operating in the districts of Brno-venkov, Boskovice, Jihlava, Třebíč, Znojmo and Žďár nad Sázavou, which is a substantial part of the South Moravian Region and the Vysočina Region. The company operates the water-related infrastructure in more than 650 municipalities. In terms of invoiced water volumes we belong amongst the six largest operators of public water supply and sewage systems in the Czech Republic - we operate 6.5 % of the water supply mains length and 5.6 % of the sewerage length in the whole of the CR. Our service area is of a strongly rural nature, as only 8 towns we operate have more than 10,000 inhabitants (Jihlava, Třebíč, Znojmo, Žďár nad Sázavou, Blansko, Velké Meziříčí, Boskovice, Nové Město na Moravě), while 55 % of the total number of municipalities where we are engaged have less than 500 inhabitants.
